Rub Paw Is Ded: Long Live The Band
This is a quick missive to those who might come to this some times (all two of you) that if you want to read similar things written by the same person you ought to follow my band’s tumblr. Same stuff!
I’ve come to realize that I blogged so much last year because I knew no one in Seattle and didn’t have anyone to play with…
Pleasant Surprise Of The Night: No Skill Records →
I was on this band’s Myspace and looking at the comments posted in the comments section. There I found a comment from a user called “No Skill Records”:
..Hey guys!
I’m Ivan and I’m from Croatia,Europe.
Since Croatia is a
small country and we never developed any underground musical/cultural
community
I started ”No Skill Records”
we are curently looking
for young unsigned bands who would like to help us promote DIY in
Croatia, by participating on our forthcoming compilation CD.
it
should feature Croatian bands and bands from around the globe.
we are
a non-profit label, and we don’t work in a traditional way. we just
want that people here start doing music by themselves.
i was hoping
if you where interested in being one of the bands on our compilation CD.
you
would really help us out and + you would gain some free promotion.
we
don’t expect anything in return of course.
so if you have some good
will, please help us out!
please write back!
best wishes,
Ivan!
Clicked-thru as it seemed like it would either be really good or really funny and it turned out to be really good; better than the song titles on their Myspace, at least.
I just got some master tracks back from audio wizard Fred Thomas who did a killer job. Here is one of them.

“Big Wave Rider” - Rainbow Bridge

My buddy Erin runs a lil’ label called Wizards Of The Ghost. They release tapes, mostly splits and comps from what I can gather. Wizards Of The Ghost just ‘dropped’ a surf-themed compilation cassette, on which the above track can be found. Digital liner notes explain:
this release is a tale of people from the pacific northwest, boston, arizona, iceland and (duh) california and their encounters with the powerful pipeline we know and feel that is “surfing.”
You can download the comp on their bandcamp or on CLLCT.
Also, stay tuned for a “Twin Peaks-themed” compilation coming out sometime this summer.
Regional Map : Weather Underground
Just looked out the window and noticed the clouds had changed direction (coming from the east instead of from the west.) Checked the weather map and sure enough, a low pressure area just moved in. Pretty cool!
Don’t need a weatherman…
